Cook’s Notes September 2010
AHHH…. The farm and garden season is coming to an end.
Our cooler fall weather is moving in and visions of blustery nights come to my mind. I love the changes of seasons in New England.
November 1st of this year will be the three year mark of my opening Martha’s Stone Soup at the Tavern. It has been a marvelous adventure. How do you measure success? Many might say by the amount of money you are able to accumulate, maybe by awards and recognition, possibly by the inspiration or fear that you might instill in others, or perhaps it is more personal. Even in my leanest times, years ago, I always felt rich. My daughter enjoys laughing about how I regularly told her when she was small, that we are rich, we just don’t have money. The rewards and treasures that I have benefitted from here are countless, but they do not include financial gain. So after great consideration and much juggling it is time to begin searching for our next opportunity. I plan to close at the end of October. I hope to see you here or at the Farmer’s Markets before then.
Please come in, enjoy another meal.
Thank you & warm regards,
Martha and Family
